With the arrest of four other suspects in the international drug smuggling case set off by the arrest of British woman Lindsay Sandiford, police are expanding their investigations.
“Today’s agenda is the investigation stage, the network is getting deeper,” said Head of Bali Police Public Relations, Commissioner Pol Hariadi in Bali Police Headquarters yesterday.
Bali Police have successfully mounted a number of targeted operations which have to do with this network.
“We are still developing it, it’s the beginning, we believe the suspects are part of an organisation. We developed the case so that we could capture the four other suspects, hopefully we can catch others involved,” said Hariadi.
The week-long sting which began with the capture of the woman smuggler at Ngurah Rai airport resulted in the arrest of four other suspects, A British couple, another British man and an Indian man. All have young children and are facing a possible death sentence.
