Roots:
Shur-I-Kan is Tom Szirtes, a software engineer, a game developer by day, and a producer, DJ, keyboardist in a dance super group The Bays by night. He currently resides in his hometown of London. Szirtes has had great interest on both fields since childhood. After graduating first in his class in computer science, he continued to embrace his passion in music by playing jazz, funk, rock keyboards for local bands while building a solid career developing software for game companies at the same time. It comes as no surprise that he chose electronica to channel his ideas in music.

Where You Might Have Heard Him
As Shur-I-Kan, the producer Szirtes is a long-time contributor to Freerange Records owned by fellow British deep house DJ/producer, Jimpster, with Advance (2001), Waypoints (2004) and several classic house EPs like Living Inside, I Want It, Special Powers, Future Fantasy and Letting You Down. Szertis has also laid out remixes for a number of celebrated artists including Akabu, Trackheadz, Miguel Migs, Fred Everything. The workaholic producer has also been picked up by top labels like Defect, Simple, NRK, Urban Torque, Physical Graffiti and Winding Road.

With his wide range of style and an inclination to combine them all, Shur-I-Kan has been rightly considered as an up and coming deep tech house producer/DJ to watch.
