Whose Canvas | Marijke Lambregtse

Marijke Lambregtse is a painter who illustrates her creative tightrope walk between opposites. She not only paints and began her artistic career in the land of her birth, Holland. She started as a highly successful dancer, choreographer, and teacher. In 1987, she decided to move to Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia to lecture on ballet.

During the first half of the 1990s, Marijke made her crossover after studying art, painting, and design. Immediate recognition of her talent resulted in prizes, exhibitions, and commissions.

This time, her latest exhibition which will be held at Ganesha Gallery, she will exhibit her current collection of canvasses titled “Lost and Found”. It is actually an exploration of two distinct themes that is of great personal importance to her; awareness and protection of the environment and the crucial role woman can play in bringing positive change by active participation. In her point of view, women are the “Pillars of Society”.
