Two years ago Kuta was reeling
from the aftereffects of the bomb and went into a downward
spin with hardly a stray dog seen on the streets for six
months. Seminyak and in particular, Jl Dhyana Pura took
over as the nightlife centre of Bali and boomed. In the
last few months though it’s turned 180 degrees and
now Kuta is drawing the early crowds to most of its central
venues. Maybe it’s time for Dhyana Pura to have
a good, hard look at itself and bring back some of the
charm and sophistication the bars had a while back. Like
us all, we have to move with the times.
Last week we asked if anyone was reading this stuff. We
got a reply.
michael bowden bowdenm@stalbanssc.vic.edu.au Yes, people
do read this stuff!!! The first thing i do when I arrive
in Bali is find a copy of beat magazine and i read it
from cover to cover. I also recommend all my friends do
the same especially 1st timers. You guys are doing a fantastic
job and beat is an incredible resource. So keep up the
great work and be assured that people do read what is
written and appreciate the hard work and effort that goes
into producing this great mag.
Nice… We’ll definitely get ya a drink at the
coming Beat Party. Friday Dec 3. M Bar Go.
Read on folks for more details of that party and everything
else that’s coming your way in the next two weeks
and all that’s been going on around town in the
last couple weeks. After all, that’s what the Beat’s
all about! ED
