I t’s
been 11 years since Hard Rock Café first hit the
hustle and bustle of Legian, Kuta. They started out smaller
than their sister in Jakarta, but after a short while
they moved out to a superior space next to Hard Rock Hotel
right on the beachfront. Since then, they’ve become
one of the biggest and most established venues for live
entertainment on the island
The party kicks starts with Bali’s very own Kaimsasikun.
Musically they were really impressive, a blend between
Radiohead and Franz Ferdinand with good looking boys –
good looking enough to form a boy band! But I think they
need to work on their people skills tho to really burn
up the audience.
The night continued with the two managers of Hard Rock
Café Bali and Jakarta, Yoris and Paulus, blowing
out the candles on a giant cake together with all the
Hard Rock crew. Suddenly, from inside the cake out jumps
an outrageous robot-like creature (that some of you may
have seen at rave parties all over Bali through the summer)
shocking everyone. Everybody probably expected a sexy
chick in a bikini to pop out of the cake, but this was
a nice change. These weird creatures later went around
pouring tequila down our throats while a half hour freeflow
was going strong at the side bar.
Rock N’ Roll Mafia out of Bandung, dropped in heavy
with their raw brand of electronica and pretty soon there
was dancefloor mayhem with the robots gyrating and spraying
tequila everywhere and t-shirts and giveaways flying overhead.
The night was getting hotter and hotter (literally, they
always have problems with AC when it gets too full!) when
Serieus from Jakarta showed up at the main stage.
Rock N’ Roll music is in the air, the climax of
the party is on its journey. Fun is the word! The party
closed with Electrovlex collaborating with DJ Bimzkee,
guiding the hard rockers to dance on through the night.
Happy birthday Hard Rock Café, keep on rocking!
