Have you seen that program
on E [Entertainment] TV, Wild On? Actually, it’s
called Wild on E and one wonders how they could possibly
get away with a name like that. Classic bit of trash TV
where all the people dance and prance around screaming
out the strengths and powers of E - that’s TV, by
the way – and partying on like pure party animals.
Loads of beautiful honey bunnies and power men popping
in and out of the screen at full speed. Anyway, it was
bit like that last Saturday night with the Closing Party
at Double Six or at least where I was standing.
No foam but a fair bit of loads of great music from
the meister Progressive House DJ, Jon White. He’s
from Nuborn Records, UK and on Saturday night he just
pumped a really smooth progressive sound through those
66 speakers that had most of the crowd on their feet from
start to finish. I’ve always had a liking for classy
progressive and this guy Mr White was taking it to a very
shiny Rolls Royce buff. By the time DJ Amy came on we
were already out the back watching some of our own entourage
flinging themselves off the bungy and missed most of his
set. It was a great crowd on Saturday with many local/ex-pat
old time fans in attendance, not super packed but a real
good feeling amongst the punters seeing the old bird off.
Double Six is only closed for two weeks and it appeared
last week that most of the structural changes have already
been made and only a few superficial final touches have
to be completed for the re-opening this Saturday night,
June 5.
Big International DJs, Giveaways, Bali Moon Cocktails,
Bar Flair Show, Fire Dancers will be helping to bring
in the new Double Six and sure to be another memorable
night in the history of Bali’s favorite night spot.
And what’s the new Double Six look like? Well, it’s
looking rather contemporary and has that new Bali modernist
look about it and class written all over it. But you’ll
have to get down there on Saturday night and find out
for yourself.
